Sameer Sharma

A screenwriting graduate from India's premier film institute 'Film and Television Institute of India', Sameer is a professional screenwriter based in Mumbai with experience in writing feature films, television web series, and short films. He has worked as lead writer of two Writers' Rooms recently and has been part of writers' rooms of TV shows commissioned by Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Zee5. 

 

He has written dialogues for the mystery-thriller television web series Gyaarah Gyaarah produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment, which is slated for release on Zee5 soon. Sameer currently heads a writers' room at Excel Entertainment for an Amazon Prime Video series. Previously, he has worked as an Assistant Director on the critically acclaimed Hindi film Udta Punjab, and as a creative executive on the award-winning film A Death In The Gunj. Two of his feature film screenplays are currently attached to a renowned production house.

 

Sameer also teaches screenwriting as a guest lecturer at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), at a film academy at Mumbai University, and at Whistling Woods International where he mentors student scripts for Foundation Films and Advanced Certificate Program in Series Writing. He was the workshop coordinator for the 7-day-long FTII screenwriting workshop at the 47th International Film Festival of India.
